Saab continues strong sales growth in U.K.
Swedish premium car maker Saab continued its phenomenal U.K. sales growth in March, with an all-time record for the month of 4,265 sales, an increase of 37 percent against March 2004, making the U.K. Saab’s largest global market for the first time ever.
Saab’s cumulative British sales year-to-date reached 6,603 cars, another all-time high for the first quarter sales period. This means that Saab remains the U.K.'s fastest growing premium car brand, as it has done for the past ten months, with first quarter sales in 2005 up by 39 percent against 2004. Overall British new-car sales remain in decline, down 7.2 per cent for the year to date, whilst sales of premium cars have fallen by an even greater amount compared to last year.
Sales of all models across the range are driving Saab’s rapid growth rate. Demand for the low-emission 9-3 1.9 TiD Sport Sedan exceeds supply, and, during the first-quarter, demand for this popular model range rose by 59 percent. Demand for the four-seasons 9-3 Convertible remains strong, with the U.K.’s most stylish soft-top increasing sales by 25 percent. The enduringly popular Saab 9-5 models also continue to retain their appeal to the discerning U.K. driver, with sales growing by 15 percent to date.
