Opening of GM Test Center in Pferdsfeld, Germany

Today, the GM Test Center in Pferdsfeld was officially opened. It will be mainly used for chassis development and testing. These additional facilities complement the test center near Dudenhofen, Germany, operated by GM since 1966, and mainly used for endurance tests and prototype validation.

In 1998, GM started the first development tests at Pferdsfeld, a former military airbase in the German state of Rheinland-Palatinate. As part of the reconstruction and expansion work, a top-rate infrastructure was developed. In addition to the development work at this site, a growing number of events are hosted there. Further reconstruction is planned in order to satisfy testing requirements of future vehicles.
