Opel at the Frankfurt Motorshow

Yesterday evening, Bryan Nesbitt and Alain Visser revealed the striking Antara GTC SUV concept under the eyes of the international media at the GM Premiere Night in Frankfurt.

The concept demonstrates just how dynamic and athletic an SUV can actually be. With the characteristic three-door design, the Antara GTC concept is particularly sporty with a dynamic design language. Viewed from the side, the frameless windows that drop right down contribute to a coupe-like silhouette. With the LED headlamps that run well into the fenders, and the brand's typical crease in the engine hood, the front of the four-seater accentuates Opel's new design line.

In addition to the Antara GTC concept, Opel presents four world premieres and a host of product innovations on the stand, as of today. The cabrio-coupé Astra TwinTop is certainly another highlight that will attract a lot of attention at the stand in Hall 8. The four-seater, which goes on sale in the spring of 2006, is equipped with an electro-hydraulic retractable hardtop. Thanks to innovative kinematics, the three-part roof system takes up very little space, leaving plenty of room for passengers and luggage.

The public will also get a first look at the OPC variants of the five-door Vectra and the Vectra station wagon with a 255 hp, 2.8-liter V6 turbo gasoline engine. They both feature the second-generation IDSPlus chassis, which has so far only been available for super sports cars. The visually striking and technically enhanced new versions of the Vectra and Signum are also in the spotlight. The fourth premiere is the new Zafira 1.6 CNG with the particularly economical and environmental friendly natural gas propulsion.
