Next Thursday, the much awaited Zorro movie will celebrate its premiere in European theaters. At the same time, Opel will launch a new advertising campaign featuring the Zorro movie to promote the Opel Astra and Corsa. Under the slogan, “Time for more horsepower”, Zorro will fight his opponents in dramatic and entertaining stunt scenes.

Apart from the publicity for the two Opel products, the new campaign has an emotional impact on the brand. The Zorro spot presents the products in a very dynamic and entertaining fashion in an unusual and unexpected environment”, says Alain Visser, Executive Director, European Marketing.

The McCann Erickson advertising agency created this very emotional spot, which is full of action and breathtaking stunts. Director Alejandro Toleda chose the famous movie set village Fort Bravo in southern Spain as the ideal location for the spot. Fort Bravo is widely known from Sergio Leone’s famous spaghetti-western movies.

The comprehensive promotion and advertising campaign, which will run until January 2006, includes movie theaters, TV and radio spots, print and internet ads as well as bill boards and posters.
