The Best Cars: Opel on the upswing

In the "The Best Cars" reader survey, which is conducted annually by the German motoring magazine, "auto motor und sport", Opel has succeeded in improving its ratings in 11 out of 13 categories.

Opel achieved a 4 percentage point increase in terms of value-for-money and two percentage points each in the areas of brand likeability and quality of service. The company also registered a raise in the categories of reliability, workmanship, styling, and sportiness. Opel was thus able to secure itself a place among the top three in the segment of vans, small cars and micro cars.

Opel drivers were particularly enthusiastic about the good looks of the new models. At 5 percentage points, Opel registered the highest increase in this area, followed by good advertising and good reliability (plus 4 percentage points each). Brand likeability also grew considerably (plus 3 percentage points).

Opel sales and marketing chief Alain Visser sees this as a confirmation of the brand's strategy to win people's hearts with versatile, dynamic models: "The poll shows that the upswing that has already become apparent in the AutoMarxX survey conducted by the largest German automobile club, ADAC, is stabilizing. Following many positive media reports, more and more customers now also confirm that Opel builds attractive cars.“
