OPC version added to Meriva range

The Opel Meriva added a new dimension to the minivan segment when it was introduced in May 2003, and has been market leader in Europe since then. The Meriva goes into 2006 with a new design and new engines, plus an extended range of technological features.

New to the range is the Meriva OPC. The high-performance version of the versatile minivan features a newly-developed 1.6-liter ECOTEC turbo engine with a power output of 132 kW/180 hp. It develops a maximum torque of 230 Nm, available in a wide band from 2200 to 5500 rpm.

Along with the six-speed manual gearbox as standard and sport chassis, this forms the basis for the minivan’s exciting drive. The Opel Meriva OPC accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds, and reaches a maximum speed of 222 km/h.
