Chevrolet has successful first test at Brands Hatch

Chevrolet had a successful first test with the new 2006 Chevrolet Lacetti WTC at Brands Hatch (U.K.) yesterday. Despite freezing temperatures and heavy rain, sleet and snow, the team managed to gather valuable data. Drivers Alain Menu and Nicola Larini made their first rounds yesterday. Rob Huff – who shook down the very first 2006-spec at Millbrook two weeks ago – will be in action today.

Despite the changing weather conditions, both Menu and Larini were happy with their first runs in the 2006 Lacetti, which now features left-hand drive, revised aerodynamics, and Yokohama tires instead of last year’s Michelins. “It’s a pity the weather kept changing like it did,” Menu said. “I managed to get in just three or four laps in the dry, so we mainly concentrated on finalizing the oil cooler position for the remainder of the day. The feeling of the car in general is good and the left-hand drive is definitely an improvement. “

After this week’s test at Brands Hatch, the testing will continue in Albacete ( Spain) next week and Magny Cours (France) the following week.
