Opel Zafira and Chevrolet Aveo win "Car of the Year" Awards in Russia

The Opel Zafira and the Chevrolet Aveo were both elected "Car of the Year" by readers of the Russian magazines Avto Panorama, Automir, Men's Health, 5th Wheel, Izvestiya and Sekret Firmi.

Zafira won the monocab category, while the Aveo ranked first in the small car category. Readers had to choose between 271 different vehicles, divided in 18 categories.

According to Avto Panorama, the leading organizer of this award, about 90.000 readers entered their votes by SMS or through the website. Compared to last year, the total number of votes doubled.

The annual award ‘Car of the Year in Russia’ was established in 2000 by Avto Panorama in cooperation with the Russian Car Dealer Association.
