World premieres in Paris: Chevrolet WTCC Ultra Concept and Opel Antara
With the Chevrolet WTCC Ultra concept and the all-new Opel Antara crossover GM will present two exciting world premieres at this year’s Paris Motor Show (September 30 – October 15). The sporty city van study, CorsaVan, will also celebrate its debut.
The concept racing car WTCC Ultra is the highlight of Chevrolet Europe’s lineup in Paris. The ready-to-drive concept car takes the Chevrolet design language to the extreme. Modern lightweight materials are used to keep the curb weight as low as possible. The WTCC Ultra is powered by a 190 hp, 2.0-liter diesel engine. The Chevrolet Epica diesel is also presented to the public for the first time in Paris. The mid-size sedan is powered by a 2.0-liter common-rail diesel engine (output: 110 kW/150 hp, max. torque: 320 Nm at 2000 rpm) and will be available from spring 2007.
With the technologically sophisticated and dynamically designed Antara, Opel is again staking a claim as leader among volume manufacturers in the SUV and crossover segment. Three transversally-mounted engines with four valves per cylinder are available for the Antara. The 2.0-liter common-rail turbo-diesel unit with 110 kW/150 hp requires only 7.5 liters fuel per 100 kilometers. Two gasoline engines are also available: a 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit with 103 kW/140 hp and the top-of-the-line 3.2-liter V6 with 167 kW/227 hp. The CorsaVan concept study that Opel presents for the first time at the Paris Motor Show boasts sporty looks, high-quality interior and a large load space. Based on the new three-door Corsa, the model showcases how the Corsa’s dynamic style might look if transferred to a city van.
The 2007 Cadillac SRX with a significantly enhanced interior and optional rear-wheel drive for the V6 model celebrates its European debut.
With the BioPower Hybrid Concept, Saab presents the latest development of its innovative combination of bio-ethanol and hybrid technology featuring the advanced two-mode system. HUMMER presents its complete model range and Corvette shows with the ZO6 the fastest, most powerful series-production Corvette ever.
